TCM Insomnia Syndrome Self-Rating Scale

TCM-ISI is a TCM syndrome-based self-rating scale for insomnia. It has 12 items with a total score of 0–36.

What this scale measuresTCM-ISI evaluates insomnia-related manifestations of the past two weeks from a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome perspective, covering difficulty falling asleep, vivid dreams, easy waking, irritability, bitter taste, heavy head, palpitations, fatigue, poor appetite, night sweats, cold limbs and dry mouth. It can serve as a pre-consult reference for TCM pattern differentiation but never replaces a physician's four diagnostic methods.
