STOP-BANG Sleep Apnea Screening

STOP-BANG is a widely used screening tool for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It contains 8 yes/no items; a "yes" answer scores 1 point, with a total score of 0–8.

What this scale measuresThe STOP-BANG uses eight yes/no questions (snoring, tiredness, observed apnea, blood pressure, BMI, age, neck size and male gender) to estimate your risk of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in about one minute. It is the global first-line OSA screen; higher scores mean you should arrange a polysomnography as soon as possible.
